Group Wine Tastings
Belmont Vineyard’s historic property is an excellent venue for hosting a Wine Tasting for a group of friends or work colleagues. The staff at Pooley Wines are passionate about providing a wine-tasting experience that will be remembered and talked about for years to come. We introduce our premium award-winning Tasmanian wines in authentic vineyard surrounds.
Various options are available:
- Option 1 – Wine Tasting only
A host will take you through a detailed description and educational presentation of four wines from the Pooley range - two whites and two reds.
$6.00 per person (Mon-Fri); $10.00 per person (Sat-Sun)
Time allocated: 30 minutes
- Option 2 – Cheese and Wine Tasting
A host will take you through a detailed description and educational presentation of four wines from the Pooley range, matched with a cheese platter of Tasmanian cheeses, fruits and biscuits.
$11.50 per person (Mon-Fri); $15.00 per person (Sat-Sun)
Time allocated: 30-40 minutes
- Option 3 – Tutored Tasting
Guests will be seated in our barn area and taken on the ultimate wine tasting journey. Equipped with a very informative tasting mat and five wines, you will learn more about varietal characteristics and how the wines are made. You will even get the opportunity to be a make-believe “wine judge”. This is a more hands-on approach than the previous two options. No prior wine tasting experience is required.
$15.50 per person (Mon-Fri); $20.00 per person (Sat-Sun)
Time allocated: 40-50 minutes
- Option 4 – Tutored Wine Tasting and Cheese Platters
As for Option 3 above, but with a selection of Tasmanian cheeses to complement the wines.
$20.50 per person (Mon-Fri); $25.00 per person (Sat-Sun)

NOTES:
Prices are fixed for groups holding a wine tasting during cellar door operating hours of 10:00am-5:00pm 7 days a week. If bookings are required after these hours, please contact the office to enquire about pricing.
Groups are required to be at the Cellar Door no later than 4:15pm to allow enough time for the wine tasting.
On all options, a 50% deposit is required to confirm the booking. This will be non-refundable if there is a no-show or failure to arrive before 4:15pm.
Venue hire
If you are searching for a venue to hold your next birthday party, social or work function, then the barn area of our historic stables and coach house is the perfect setting. This is a private area set up with tables, chairs, market umbrellas and a view over Richmond township. BBQ facilities are available on request.
Cost: $100 for up to 30 guests and $5.00 per additional person. Maximum of 60 people.
Weddings and receptions
Belmont Vineyard’s historic property provides a magnificant backdrop for a most memorable wedding day and celebration with family and friends.
Options for consideration are:
- Garden Wedding
Your wedding ceremony conducted in our beautiful gardens.
$12.00 per person, or a minimum charge of $1,100 (inc GST), whichever is the greater.
- Reception only held in the historic barn
The Barn can comfortably seat 80 people for a sit down reception, or 100 people for a stand up reception.
$12.00 per person, or a minimum charge of $1,100 (inc GST), whichever is the greater.
- Garden Wedding followed by Reception held in the historic barn
$18.00 per person (venue hire only), or a minimum charge of $1,100 (inc GST), whichever is the greater. Catering, equipment hire, staffing, etc, are the responsibility of the wedding party.
NOTES:
Wine: Only Pooley Wines are permitted to be served and can be purchased at 10% off cellar door prices (any unopened wine in original condition can be refunded after the event if preferred). Any other beverages, including beer and soft drinks, can be supplied by the wedding party.
Payment options:
$500 deposit is payable on booking. 50% of the budget is payable one month before the wedding with the final balance payable on or before the wedding day.
A basic questionnaire will be provided for the wedding organisers to complete, followed by an appointment on site with a Pooley Wines staff member. During this appointment your requirements can be discussed in detail, and your questions answered.
